2023

The beginning

Bu Composite was founded with one goal: to make roofing faster, simpler and more sustainable. We saw a market that hadn't changed in decades — and an opportunity to give recycled wind turbine blades a new life.

2024

Best Idea in Western Norway

We won Best Idea in Western Norway and advanced in the national competition 100 Pitches. Roof tiles from recycled wind turbine blades became roof panels.

2025

Prototype, patent and partnership

We installed our first prototype — 300 roof tiles on two test roofs. A patent was filed for our Bu Roof system, and we signed a production agreement with Beform in Hønefoss.

2026

Towards production

Bu Panel 60 is fully designed — with a patent-pending click-lock system, one sixth the weight of concrete tiles, and dramatically faster installation.
