A new roof for your cabin. All materials arrive on one date.

For your carpenter

Your carpenter can email William directly at [email protected] before saying yes. He gets the data sheet, the laying instructions and the maintenance guide. You do not have to be the go-between.

What is in the kit

Panels, underlay (a membrane that keeps water out and lets moisture escape), counter-battens (upright battens under the panel), ridge caps, gutters and downpipes, penetrations for chimney and vents, fixings and nails. You do not need battens (the horizontal boards the roof is fixed to), as they are part of the panel.

Not included: scaffolding, demolition equipment and removal of the old roof.

We add 10 % extra panels for offcuts. If something is still missing, we send it free of charge. We ship anywhere in Norway, and the freight is in the quote.

One panel weighs 1.5 kg, so it is easy to carry the last stretch up to the cabin.

Will it handle the winter?

According to the product data sheet, Bu Panel is designed for the snow in most of Norway below 800 m above sea level. If the cabin is higher, or where unusually much snow falls, a qualified building-code expert must look at the roof first. We go through the figures for your cabin in the quote.

Questions you may have

Yes, or your carpenter can. You get digital laying instructions with pictures for every step, and William on e-mail if you get stuck. The warranty also applies when you lay it yourself, as long as you follow the instructions and document the work with photos. Installation errors are not covered.

Steel sheeting has a long track record in Norway, but it can rust, especially on the coast. Bu Panel is plastic reinforced with glass fibre. It does not rust.

An honest answer: the product warranty lapses. We have no insurance or bank guarantee behind it today. If you use your own carpenter, he is responsible for the work. And if the panels fail, only the outer roof has to be replaced. The underlay and the structure below stay in place.

The first customer roofs with Bu Panel are laid in December 2026. We post every step on the way there on Road to launch. We will post photos and video of the roofs here when they are finished.

It depends on the roof area and how many penetrations the roof has. You get a time estimate together with the price.

Delivery from February 2027. You get the delivery date together with the price.
