The tools you need
A nail gun for machine nails, which you can hire from Bygger'n or Maxbo, or a drill if you use screws. You probably have the rest: hammer, tape measure, drill, circular saw or jigsaw with a fine-toothed carbide blade, roof ladder or scaffolding, and safety gear.
What is in the kit
Panels, underlay (a membrane that keeps water out and lets moisture escape), counter-battens (upright battens under the panel), ridge caps, gutters and downpipes, penetrations for chimney and vents, fixings and nails. You do not need battens (the horizontal boards the roof is fixed to), as they are part of the panel.
Not included: scaffolding, demolition equipment and removal of the old roof.
We add 10 % extra panels for offcuts. If something is still missing, we send it free of charge. We ship anywhere in Norway, and the freight is in the quote.
How long does it take?
A garage roof of 30–100 m² is one to two days' work for two people.

Questions you may have
If you only replace the roofing and the roof looks the same as before, it is usually treated as maintenance. If the roof changes its look, for example from red roof tiles to black panels, it can count as a facade change that needs a permit (Planning and Building Act § 20-1 c). If you change the roof pitch or build new, check with your municipality. We look at it for your garage at the site visit, and if a permit is needed, we help you apply.
30-year product warranty on the panel. It covers breakage, cracks, leaks through the panel or the joints, and frost damage. For the first ten years we also cover the work of replacing the panel. The warranty also applies when you lay it yourself, as long as the installation follows the instructions and is documented with photos. It requires normal maintenance according to the maintenance guide.
Delivery from February 2027. A specific date follows the price.
According to the product data sheet, Bu Panel is designed for the snow in most of Norway below 800 m above sea level. If the garage is higher, or where unusually much snow falls, a local building-code expert must assess the roof. We go through the concrete figures in the quote, based on your address.
